3 Good Packaging and 3 Bad Packaging

3 Good Packaging Design.

Band of Brothers Collection DVD.

Not only that this is a good mini series from HBO, but the way they market and package this collection of 6 disc is worth the price you paid for. It is encase on a thin that opens up on the top. Even though all dvd movies are protected on a plastic case, the packaging for this movie serves 2 purpose to package a collection of 6 disks, but also the way it look. If you look at it at a distance it looks like a dog tag. The same dog tags the heroes of this movie wear.

5 Qt. Motor Oil

For a do it yourself standpoint this is a good packaging. Not only it contains 5 qts of motor oil. It has a handle that will make it easier to pour in to the small mouth of the engine. Of course you have to use a funnel so that it will have no mess. The other use for the container after using the new oil is you can put the old oil into this container and bring it to your local used oil recycling facility.

First Juice Bottles

First Juice is a blend of organic fruit and vegetable juices created specifically for little kids on the go. The design of the bottle makes it more appealing for kids to drink this juice because of it shape. It looks like their old formula bottle which is they are accustomed to.

3 Bad Packaging Design

PC Games

Now this is a good PC game. But why the designer thinks it’s appropriate to put it on this large container if it only has 1 disc on it. The thickness of this container is twice the thickness of a regular DVD case. Again why?

DVD Case with an external Sleeve.


What is the point of having an external sleeve if the design on the case and the sleeve is the same. For me it is just plain annoying and a waste of paper.

Really Bad Packaging and overall design.


Are they serious about this? The design is to busy, you don’t even know where to begin to look.
